Herb Description:

  • Cassia Tora is a stout, erect, and smooth herb with a rank smell.
  • It is a half-woody annual plant, typically under one meter in height.
  • The leaves are pinnately compound, 8 to 12 centimeters long, with 6 leaflets.
  • Glands are present on the main rachis between the leaflets.
  • Leaflets are obovate to oblong-obovate, 2 to 5 centimeters long.
  • The flowers are crowded in pairs in the axils of the upper leaves.
  • Pods are slender, up to 15 centimeters long and 3 to 4 millimeters thick.
  • Seeds are flattened in the same direction as the pod.
